Wandering Arts Biennial 2016 - OPEN CALL !
The Wandering Arts Biennial is an artistic project that offers a context and platform to nomadic practices of artists. WAB brings together various mobile arts projects and facilitates crossovers between the participating artists, and their projects or researches about mobility.
This open call is for artistic projects that focus on various interpretations of mobile arts practices, such as :
- Performance in public space
- Nomadism as artistic research method
- Journalism and cultural exchange
- Exploration as a motive for artistic expression and innovation
- The public space as a meeting and experience space
- Mobile temporary/alternative studio
For the second edition of the WAB we are still looking for artists, collectives, (existing) projects, artistic organisations, etc who want to participate in 2016.
WAB hosts independent projects of various sizes, from big collaborative projects to small scale and personal initiatives.
WAB organises various public events (exhibitions, lectures, presentations) where all participants can present their project, results, research, etc.
All participating artists and projects will be part of the WAB publication.
March 2016 : Launch WAB 2016 + Publication WAB 2014
March-November 2016 : Project and production period with public events
November 2016 : Final exhibition
2017 : Publication cooking of 2016 production + Preparation WAB 2018
Deadline to submit a proposal is 15 July 2015.
Please send us an A4 description of the work/project, a short bio (max half A4) about your (mobile) practice, CV, and an estimation of costs you need from WAB to co-fund your project. (Please note that the possibility of co-financial support by WAB depends on the funds we are able to collect.)
WAB is organised by a collective of artists and generalists interested in mobile arts practices and is supported by nadine.
